I was very happy to be back at Clutch Cafe London - Men's apparel shop in Mayfair - a few weeks ago to run another shibori workshop. It was my third time hosting a workshop there, and it was such a pleasure to return.
During the workshop, we explored several shibori techniques, including Itajime, a folding and clamping method, and Makiage, which involves stitching and wrapping with thread. We also tried some other simple techniques, including a method using marbles to create different patterns and textures.
All eight participants put so much care and effort into their stitching and experimented with combining different techniques. It was lovely to watch each person discover their own way of creating patterns and colours.
More than anything, I felt that everyone enjoyed a relaxing, happy, and creative time together. There was a wonderful atmosphere in the room, and I really enjoyed seeing the participants' individual ideas and approaches come to life.
I had such a fun and inspiring time too. Thank you to everyone who joined the workshop, and to Clutch Cafe London for having me back. I’m already looking forward to the next one!
